The long anticipated 2008 Cabernet Merlot has finally been released and looks like being a classic. The long dry ripening period leading up to the Harvest produced berries of textbook quality which enabled me to separate various vine patches within the vineyard.Careful "batch" fermentation and maturation in small oak casks has lead to an exciting array of Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Likewise the Merlot from the famous McKie Vineyard in Coonawarra was harvested slightly riper to ensure full depth of flavour and balance on the palate.

The final blend that I put together shows the amazing strength of the Coonawarra area.

A delightul wine that is certainly approachable now but will blossom over the next 5 years. see Tasting Notes).
